About Major A. Stewart
Dr. Major A. Stewart, MBA, DMin, BCC is a seasoned pastor, board-certified chaplain, author, and church leadership consultant with more than two decades of experience equipping pastors, churches, and communities for spiritually grounded and emotionally resilient ministry. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Vice Moderator of the United Missionary Baptist Association, where he helps train, license, and ordain ministers across more than 50 congregations. With a deep heart for mentoring men and developing next-generation faith leaders, Dr. Stewart is also a recognized expert in African American male ministry, youth discipleship, and culturally informed spiritual formation. Dr. Stewart is a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains, with clinical experience in hospice, trauma, palliative care, and mental health chaplaincy. He has served in both hospital and hospice settings, providing compassionate presence and spiritual support during life’s most vulnerable moments. He holds a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from United Theological Seminary with a dissertation focused on developing sustainable policies and procedures for 21st-century Black churches. He also earned an MBA in Business Administration, a Master of Administration & Christian Education, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Through his writing, training, coaching, and speaking, Dr. Stewart equips churches, pastors, and Christian leaders to grow healthy souls, build resilient ministries, and live out their calling with excellence and integrity.
